Participate in the operational functioning of the Neurodevelopmental service. The post holder will be accountable for the delivery of specialist diagnostic assessments for adults with potential autistic spectrum disorder, including both people with and without a learning disability. The successful candidate will be highly skilled and competent in conducting Clinical and Risk Assessments, providing recommendations relating to the management and support needs of service users identified as being on the autistic spectrum. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team within the service, completing all assessments within the diagnostic assessment pathway. Information from these assessments may then be shared with community or inpatient Multi-Disciplinary Teams, and utilized within service user care plans.

1. Liaise & work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrists and all members of the Multidisciplinary Team within the Leeds Autism Diagnostic Team.
2. Offer comprehensive Autism and Aspergers Syndrome Assessments and be involved in planning and recommending appropriate care, making use of validated tools, Risk Assessments, Outcome Measurement Tools and ICPs.
3. Participate in the delivery of Specialist Assessment tools in relation to the assessment of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
4. Promote the development of the service in line with current philosophies and guidelines, such as the Autism Strategy.
5. Demonstrate a commitment to providing a person-centred approach to care, which encourages service-user involvement in their own care and delivery of services.
6. Ensure that service users' health is maintained and promoted by working and communicating effectively with all members of the Multi-Professional Team who have contact with service users. Professionals involved work in diverse settings (e.g. hospitals, Primary Health Clinics, GP practices, generic field social work, Third Sector organizations, Colleges, etc).
