This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient control of people, equipment, and materials within a specific section of our projects. The Foreman will act as the primary point of authority on-site, coordinating efforts to meet our company’s mission and values. Key Responsibilities Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure the safety and environmental protection of your workforce and surrounding areas. Conduct daily visits to teams to enforce compliance with health and safety policies. Productivity Management: Work closely with team Supervisors to maximize efficiency and productivity. Take direct control when necessary to demonstrate effective supervision. Plan Execution: Ensure teams adhere to the planned work schedules and assist in detailed planning sessions to establish and measure performance metrics. Quality Assurance: Oversee construction methods and ensure adherence to Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and hold points. Material Management: Handle the daily ordering of materials needed for your section, including gas oil, water, adblue, imported stone, and geotextiles. Record Keeping: Ensure the quality and completeness of Daily Allocation Sheets and enforce the use of digital records where applicable. Plant Management: Enforce Daily Plant Checks and report any defective equipment promptly. Performance Feedback: Provide key feedback on team performance, although direct HR responsibilities are not included. Procedure Compliance: Follow all company procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures and Permit to Work Memos. Qualifications and Experience Essential: Demonstrable first-class approach to health, safety, and environmental issues. Experience managing multiple earthworks teams, ensuring maximum production and minimal downtime. Knowledge of machine/application matching, production outputs, and Series 600 Specification for Highway Works. Proficiency in using GPS machine guidance. Ability to read and work to a 3-week programme. Strong understanding of quality requirements and adherence to ITPs and hold points. Professional interaction with client representatives and robust defense of company interests. Leadership skills, visibility, and approachability. SMSTS qualification and minimum of CSCS Gold Card. Minimum of 10 years in the industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. Desirable: Ability to operate earthworks plant. CPCS plant qualifications. SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training). First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates. CSCS Black Card.
