Role Purpose To be responsible for proofreading company annual and interim reports for external clients, reports, prospectuses, brochures, newsletters, advertisements and forms for individual companies and departments within Waystone. This requires monitoring and checking of the typesetters’ work and ensuring that it adheres to departmental procedures and requirements of the templates which are used to ensure that all information is provided in the correct manner for regulatory requirements. The proofreader is required to ensure that the work meets the standards that ensures the highest quality of service is provided to the clients. The statutory nature of much of the work involved means that the department works in a strict deadline oriented environment. Ccountabilities And Main Responsibilities Strategic Focus Accept work provided by the typesetters and prioritise work according to the deadlines within the department. Proofread each piece of work in a methodical manner and with a high attention to detail. Check that the template used is the correct template for the piece of work being produced. Check that all the information provided by the accountants has been transposed into the template clearly and accurately. Clearly mark up any amendments the proofreader requires with agreed proof marks. Re-proof the work once amends have been made. Accept work and prioritise in accordance with internal Service Levels. Adhere to departmental work schedules to ensure client deadlines achieved. Record time spent on each activity for later billing to clients. Manage time effectively in conjunction with other team members to ensure cover at all times. Assist with any other work as determined by the Design Director/Assistant Manager. Governance & Risk Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Support Waystone Group’s assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices. Each member of staff has responsibility to adhere to Waystone’s policies, procedures and service level agreements. In particular to ensure operational controls are carried out in accordance with laid down procedures, to ensure the ongoing mitigation of business risk. In this regard regular training should be agreed with the Design Director/Assistant Manager. Please note that this role will be on a hybrid basis from our Exeter office, and the right candidate must be able to commute.
