We're looking for an experienced Technical Animator - Mid or Senior Level - to join a well-known and highly respected, Midlands based, UK studio who are widely respected throughout the games industry.
As a Technical Animator you’ll be working on the studio’s upcoming action-adventure project and also on their highly successful, flagship title which has enjoyed sustained success with a growing player base and legions of adoring fans around the world.
This role is ideal for a problem solver with a creative technical mindset, you will join the studio’s Technical Animation team, and work directly with the Engineering team and support the Art, AI and Game teams to build animation systems for runtime.
You will be using Unreal to create higher standards of animation across a wide variety of unique and stylised characters along and be involved in R&D into new and emerging animation technology.
***Please note, this is a fulltime, 18 month, contract position.***
Your responsibilities…
* Work with Designers and Engineers to understand and implement gameplay animation features.
* Support Engineers and game dev teams to fix game issues, troubleshooting animation graphs and artwork.
* Be mindful of any performance issues and be responsible for making performance improvements.
* Advise on and create tools to improve workflows and asset quality.
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...
* A background in Technical Animation for games.
* Experience in the development of locomotion and character control systems.
* Expertise in Unreal 5 and animation skills.
* Ability to work on Unreal animation blueprints.
* Experience in locomotion, particularly on creatures (biped, quadruped and horses).
* Completed a full game development cycle.
Bonus points for...
* Skills in Python, Scripting and C++.
* Experience with motion matching and other data driven systems.
For this 18 month contract role you should be...
* Based in the UK and hold the right to work in the UK.
* Happy to be on site 2 days per week for at least the first 6 months.
* Available to complete an 18 month PAYE contract.
