We are seeking a Research & Development Project Lead, to support the development of testing new products and systems. The business is now proactively ensuring that they are ahead of the market, offering the best and safest products on the market.
This person will need a background of testing within building materials, construction products, raw materials, or even chemical/pharmaceutical.
The position also benefits from a long handover, with a huge investment into testing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive a proactive culture in Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining and safe environment.
* Utilising support from the technical teams, design, set up and conduct mechanical testing with both products and systems.
* Understand the businesses strategic vision and growth plans - performing the testing plans for acoustics, fire safety and structural elements to ensure they are the best products available in the market.
* Provide clear feedback on testing results, accurately reporting on all testing and experiments.
* Contribute to the development of existing products - identifying opportunity to optimise costs without compromise on quality and performance.
* Investigate any cause for customer complaints in our products.
To Be Successful:
* Degree in building, science or engineering related discipline highly desirable.
* Ideally experienced in plasterboard systems, plaster formulations, drywall products.
* Experience using AutoCAD.
* Knowledge in fire and acoustic test requirements for building materials.
* Natural continuous improvement mindset - always developing new skills and willingness to learn.
* Strong diplomatic communicator - able to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong aware of Health and Safety practices.
