Business Development Executive Description:
Our client helps the largest manufacturers in the world to buy, sell, and manage their surplus capital equipment. The company works in multiple industries including consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and electronics. Reporting to the European Business Development Manager, the Business Development Executive will possess a proven record of accomplishment of presenting to management and directors or target companies while displaying our clients’ solutions and services. Experience working within B2B business development and sales is essential.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update customer database, including prospecting and database expansion
Identify new target contacts, within assigned accounts and assigned industries through proactive efforts
On-line research, direct calling, emailing
Outbound calling and emailing, into target contacts on different responsibility levels
Identifying key contacts within company targets
Generate new business opportunities, from single ‘listings’, to large projects and complete global programs
Build strong business relationships with new, potential and existing customers
Qualify in-bound enquiries
Liaise with senior team members to progress new leads
Communicate directly with sales management to clearly report ongoing business development leads
Participate in internal meetings with global team
Requirements:
5-10 years’ experience in B2B sales/Business development Europe wide within food & beverage equipment.
Experience working towards and achieving sales targets
‘Hunter/prospector’ – Someone who enjoys prospecting and creating opportunities
Can use external web-based platforms to identify and create relationships with key contacts.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure professional interactions
Can build strong and lasting connections with people, ensuring their needs are met effectively
Excellent organization skills and ability to co-ordinate meetings with internal management team
Excellent time management skills in prioritizing daily activities and responsibilities.
Excellent teamwork skills as working with colleagues globally will be essential
Have a competitive nature and be confident
Able to travel occasionally within Europe for client meetings and exhibitions
European language speaking is desirable, but not essential
