About this role
World leading manufacturing organisation are looking to recruit a logistics scheduler full time based on site in Barry 40 hours per week Monday to Friday office hours. This role is temporary until minimum end of October 2025.
Responsibilities:
1. Identifies and resolves potential conflicts, constraints, or deviations in the scheduling plan to meet customer, unit, function or business needs.
2. Initial point of contact for carriers (all Modes of Transportation (MOT) - Road, Rail & Marine) to inform them of scheduling plan exceptions.
3. Utilizes Material Flow Work Process knowledge to develop and optimize the scheduling plan and proactively resolve any deviations and/or conflicts from the normal shipment process.
4. Develops technical skills on the job to perform routine work activities using existing standard operating procedures.
5. Completes assigned tasks with a close to moderate degree of supervision.
6. Gains proficiency through on-the-job training and experience.
7. Evaluates analytical or scientific problems in unusual situations and selects solutions based on established procedures.
8. Serves as an informal resource on operational, administrative, data organization, or coordination tasks for less experienced team members.
9. Modifies work practices and processes to achieve results and/or improve efficiency.
General Business:
1. Monitors work request completion and takes appropriate action and creates and distributes scheduling plan (plan to include all modes (inbound/outbound/packaging).
2. Verifies that the schedule can be met within the current status of logistics operations.
3. Communicates with appropriate resources, via proper procedures, to coordinate required services within specified timelines.
4. Reviews the scheduling plan for completeness, manages changes, exceptions, and facilitates resolution of issues.
5. Verifies all shipment details for accuracy and completeness and addresses scheduling exceptions (non-compliances).
6. Gathers, monitors, reviews, and communicates scheduling performance measures within work processes to appropriate partners.
7. Records necessary Diamond/SAP system entries in a timely and efficient manner by completing activities such as: shipping, receipt process, and storing/blending production orders.
Qualifications:
1. Logistics experience is essential.
2. The critical competencies required for success are: SAP user, strong communication and networking skills, Import & Export documentation, act upon safety requirements, understanding customer needs, teamwork, taking initiative, time management, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, policies and procedures.
3. Successful applicant will be subject to DBS Criminal record check and Medical - Cost will be met by employer.
