The Role:
Joining us as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the management of the financial issues of the procurement and delivery of our Capital Housing investment programme of investment and planned works. You will be required to provide advice on the Service Providers valuations and claims and, where necessary, gather and provide measurement records from site to substantiate cost and demonstrate value.
You will work alongside a variety of professional consultants and officers both on site and in the office in order to deliver best quality and value for money. Working as a team you can be sure that you’ll constantly be motivated by the people around you, working together to deliver best quality and value.

About You:
We have a private sector mind-set and drive, which means you don’t have to have a public sector background as we welcome applicants from the private sector too. Your ability to manage the commercial and cost aspects of investment and planned works will be vital. You’ll also need to review tender submissions provided by the Service Providers, sub-contractors and suppliers. You’ll need to be good with people too, knowing how to get the best out of them as well as working closely with other members of the commercial team. On top of this an understanding of the implications of health and safety regulations is vital.
Your job will entail working from site on a regular basis as well as working from one of our offices. We are also empowering our people to work from home on occasions but the majority of the time you will commute to the office or to one of our sites.
