Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant (TA)

Salary Range: £83 - £96 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are looking for a committed Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children in a Reception class within a small primary school on the outskirts of Hull. The role will involve working alongside the teacher to provide a stimulating and safe environment for young learners, supporting their early development and growth.
Responsibilities of the EYFS Teaching Assistant:
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
* Support children’s learning and development through play and structured educational activities.
* Help create a welcoming, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
* Monitor and document children’s progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to reports.
* Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and communication skills.
* Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
* Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children, following the school’s safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Collaborate with other staff members and contribute to planning meetings and training sessions.
Requirements of the EYFS Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience working with young children in an EYFS setting or similar educational support role.
* Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and interaction with children.
* A patient, caring, and positive approach to working with young learners.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or Early Years qualification) are desirable.
* Ability to adapt and be proactive in supporting the varied needs of children.
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
