The Opportunity
We are seeking a multi-skilled individual to be responsible for maintenance, repairs and smooth running of the site and production lines. This is a varied role and will suit individuals with a can-do attitude, willing to take control of site maintenance and develop systems to support the business in moving forward.
You will be responsible for:
* Establishing and maintaining suitable Asset Management Plan and Preventative Inspection & Maintenance Schedules to maximise performance, safety, reliability and compliance with relevant legislation and regulation.
* Conducting regular operational checks to plant equipment to ensure minimum downtime.
* Ensuring critical spares stocks to minimise machine downtime.
* Maintenance of plant machinery and facilities, attending breakdowns, fault finding and performing repairs as necessary in a timely and cost-effective manner.
* Organising and managing external contractors as required, ensuring work is delivered in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
* Leading or assisting in Site Improvement Projects.
* Ensuring all statutory requirements and site standards are complied with, including Health, Safety & Environmental, documentation, etc.
The job holder must be prepared to be on call outside of normal working hours to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. Some weekend shutdown work may be required.
This position involves working with chemicals and process materials therefore in line with H&S requirements this is a non-smoking / vaping role.
What will make you successful?
Self-motivated individual with good problem-solving skills who is able to work alone with a willingness to work in small company environment and self-manage day-to-day tasks.
In addition to this:
* Background in maintenance, multi-skilled, time served within an appropriate mechanical or chemical manufacturing environment.
* Strong listening, communication and collaboration skills with proven fault-finding capability.
* Preparation of Permits to Work.
* Awareness of relevant regulation & legislation, including Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Health and Safety Information for Employees (Modifications and Repeals) Regulations 1995. Other relevant examples include Work at Height, Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment (LOLER), Electricity at Work, Pressure Equipment (Safety), COSHH and Local Exhaust Ventilation Regulations, etc.
* B-Tec, HNC/D or equivalent preferred.
* Training in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Safety training (IOSH, NEBOSH) preferred.
* Forklift truck license.
* Experience with either electrical systems, plumbing, compressed air systems, ovens/furnaces, would be an advantage.
