Job Title: Adult Speech and Language Therapist-London Banding: Band 6/7 Location: London Working Hours: Monday - Friday Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3 months Rate: £28-£34 per hour We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in London. This role involves providing specialized care for adult patients with neurological conditions in an acute inpatient setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, and the ability to manage complex cases effectively. Responsibilities: As an Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders in adult patients with neurological conditions, including stroke and neuromedical conditions. You will work in an acute inpatient setting, utilizing valid outcome measures to demonstrate the benefits of intervention. Your role will involve effective history taking, generation of clinical hypotheses, and appropriate assessment, including instrumental methods such as videofluoroscopy. You will also be expected to show evidence of good clinical decision-making through skilled selection and interpretation of assessments, particularly in complex cases, to provide a differential diagnosis. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent HCPC registration Ideally have acute neurology experience Experience in acute inpatient management Demonstrated good evidence-based practice with adult neurorehabilitation and neuromedical conditions/stroke Competence in the use of valid outcome measures to demonstrate the benefits of intervention Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills Experience with instrumental assessment methods, such as videofluoroscopy Excellent clinical decision-making skills, particularly in complex cases Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational and time management skills Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices Why work with Pulse?
