Are you looking for an exciting role in a well-established and growing business? We’re looking for an Assistant Project Engineer to join our client and support the successful delivery of engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, with full training provided, including CAD software.
To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:
* Knowledge of Low Voltage switchgear (e.g., circuit breakers, metering, switchboards)
* Some experience with 415V AC systems (630-6300A ratings)
* Flexibility to travel within the UK, initially accompanying an experienced engineer
* Basic familiarity with AutoCAD (training provided for wiring diagram software)
* IT proficiency and strong administrative skills
* Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers
* Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturday mornings if required
Within this position, you’ll also be:
* Processing orders through supplier systems and internal Sage platform
* Keeping customers updated on order progress and delivery timelines
* Assisting in the creation and modification of switchboard layout drawings using AutoCAD/SEE Electrical & PDF Editor (under supervision)
* Developing electrical wiring schematics for switchgear manufacturing using IGE-AXO Electrical (training provided)
* Sharing technical drawings and specifications with customers when required
* Managing digital documentation for operations and maintenance manuals
* Supporting contract coordination, engaging with clients to exchange key project details
* Participating in product testing and setup of electrical panels
* Assisting in preparing cost estimates and quotes alongside senior engineers
Salary & Working Hours
Salary is £26,000 - £30,000 Depending on experience
Hours: Monday-Thursday: 08:30-17:30, Friday: 08:30-15:00 (1-hour lunch break)
Holidays: 31 days, including bank holidays
