Job description:
The External Stakeholder Manager will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community organisations. With significant experience in stakeholder engagement, you will play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, and driving initiatives that support our strategic objectives. The External Stakeholder Manager will report to the CEO.
Main responsibilities:
Corporate & Sponsor Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain partnerships with corporate organisations, identifying opportunities for sponsorship, fundraising, and employee volunteering programs.
* Manage sponsor renewal process
* Support CEO with all funding initiatives and identify ways to diversify funding
* Develop proposals and presentations to attract new corporate partners to support GAIN’s mission.
* Coordinate joint initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate social responsibility goals.
Volunteer Management:
* Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers, ensuring a positive and engaging experience.
* Implement & manage volunteer platform
* Manage GAIN alumni programme (to include mentoring programme)
* Develop and implement strategies to motivate and recognise volunteers.
* Act as the main point of contact for volunteer queries and concerns.
Strategic Planning and Reporting:
* Contribute to the development of corporate sponsor & volunteer engagement strategies.
* Track and report on engagement metrics and outcomes to senior leadership.
* Identify risks and opportunities related to stakeholder relationships.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* A Bachelor’s Degree.
* Minimum of 3 years (ideally more than 5 years) of experience in stakeholder management, corporate relations, and/or volunteer coordination.
* Proven ability to manage relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders.
* Experience in planning and delivering engagement activities.
* Experience in managing sponsor relations
* Experience in managing volunteer engagement programs
* Experience with other charity funding eg. grants, corporate matched donation schemes etc.
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work collaboratively and build consensus among diverse groups.
* Organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Desirable:
* Experience in the non-profit or charity sector.
* Knowledge of corporate social responsibility practices.
* Familiarity with volunteer management systems or tools.
* A good understanding of the finance & more specifically the investment management industry, knowledge of GAIN’s supporter firms

The details:
Employment type: full time, permanent, flexible working around team core hours
Location: remote/home-working, with some limited, ad-hoc travel (usually to London). The candidate needs to reside in the United Kingdom and must have the right to work in the United Kingdom on a permanent basis.
Interviews: Late January – early February 2025
Start Mid-late February start or as soon as possible.
