The Role As a DT Teacher (Resistant Materials), you will: Teach engaging and well-structured lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience and subject coverage. Deliver a curriculum focused on design principles, practical skills, and the creative use of materials such as wood, metal, and plastics. Encourage students to explore problem-solving through design, using a range of traditional and modern techniques including CAD/CAM. Ensure safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and equipment, promoting excellent workshop practice. Contribute to the development and refinement of schemes of work and assessment strategies. Support extra-curricular activities such as clubs, competitions, and project-based learning opportunities. ✔️ What We’re Looking For We’re looking for a qualified teacher who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience teaching Resistant Materials or Product Design within the secondary age range. Has a good working knowledge of materials, workshop tools and processes, and is confident in managing a practical learning environment. Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills, and can engage academically able students in both practical and theoretical work.
