About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and collaborative person to join our team. The Global Product Manager role is responsible for the growth and profitability of the Large Engine Oils product line. You will develop and implement the overall product line strategy, by working across business functions to ensure market resonance, customer solution and industry partnering. You will manage and drive the product lifecycle from conception to commercialization and beyond, directly impacting the overall market positioning, competitiveness and success of the Large Engine business.
Responsibilities:
* Accountable for the development and implementation of our Large Engine product line strategy to ensure our products are competitive and align with industry, OEM and end-user requirements.
* Establish Market Insights, distilling data and trends to support and communicate our understanding of the market landscape and segments to guide future product development strategy
* Understand, interpret and convey customer needs, competitor analysis, and market trends.
* Collate, distil and analyse market intelligence to determine product, pricing & margin positioning
* Develop and manage pricing strategies to optimize profitability while remaining competitive in the marketplace.
* Ownership of the product lifecycle from conception to product launch and beyond to ensure on-time delivery and profitability.
* As the Product Owner, you will actively drive the development and continuous improvement of your product portfolio based on the needs of your customers.
* Identify product line gaps and work collaboratively across functions to develop solutions
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as R&D, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure overall aligned execution of product line projects managing, competitiveness, complexity and profitability of the product line.
* Collaborate with Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain to manage assets and operational decisions to support the product line.
* Collaborate with Marketing to develop marketing campaigns, internal communications and all promotional programs for the regions to increase product awareness.
* Work with the sales team to drive global and regional activities necessary to execute growth targets and achieve annual sales plans.
* Work with the technical team to provide timely technical services to sales and customers, including customer visits, presentations, training and commercial support
Experience:
* Degree or Business-related qualifications in Business, Marketing or a related field.
* Industry experience &/or Strong Background:
* Industry experience: preferably 5+ years within the specialty chemicals, lubricant, large engine (Marine, Stationary Gas, Railroad) or adjacent industry
* Strong background: in understanding of ‘Market led’ strategies, product development and value proposition selling approach
* Business Acumen: Good understanding of the financial aspects of the product line, including pricing, margins, and profitability. Ability to make sound business decisions based on financial analysis. Ability to assess and interpret market and financial data and use it to make informed decisions, including tracking and analyzing product performance metrics and market trends.
* Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work with, influence and manage across a variety of stakeholders. Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical peers, across functions, cultures and different levels.
* Technical Affinity: ability to grasp the technical aspects of products they are managing and appreciation of both manufacturing complexity and the technical features of the value proposition
