Job summary Student Health Visitor (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Training) Every day is different working as a Health Visitor (Specialist Community Public health Nurse) with various responsibilities which include: home visits/virtual consultations for health need assessments,promoting uptake of immunization, conducting child developmental and health reviews, running support groups for parents and working in collaboration with a range of local children agencies such as Early Years, Children Centres and Third Sector Organisations. A fully funded and salaried training places are available now, (Agenda for Change band 5-maximum will be mid-point). The course comprises of 50% academic and 50% clinical placement in accordance with the University, NMC and Trust regulations. As a GSTT SCPHN student, you will be allocated a Specialist Practice Teacher and receive additional support from the Practice Development Lead. You will play a fundamental role in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, promoting child development through parental support, safeguarding children, preventing social exclusion, and tackling important public health issues.
