GRP Finisher

Cockwells is globally respected in the marine industry and at the forefront of designing and building luxury motor launches and Superyacht tenders. The Company cleverly integrates traditional boatbuilding skills with innovative engineering and modern techniques to build vessels of the highest quality.
We now require full-time experienced GRP Finishers to come and join our team working 07:00 am - 17:30 pm Monday-Thursday (40 hours per week). Overtime may also be available and is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
Job Description
The role of GRP Finisher includes the following:
1. Finishing and preparing hulls, decks, and various boat line components.
2. Working within a small team ensuring production targets are met whilst maintaining an impeccable standard of workmanship.
3. Preparing moulds and trimming.
Essential Skills
1. Polishing components.
2. Gelling skills.
3. Prepping moulds.
4. Snagging worked components.
5. Ability to read and understand drawings.
6. Show a coachable and positive attitude, with a desire to pursue perfection.
7. Ability to manage your time efficiently.
8. Able to work well within a team.
9. Produce work in a clean and productive manner.
Location
The place of work is normally Southwest Shipyard, Ponsharden, Falmouth TR11 2SE or Mylor Creek Boat Yard, Mylor Bridge, TR11 5NS. You should be flexible to work at either location as required.
Salary
A competitive and negotiable rate of up to £16.50 per hour, dependent on skills/experience. The starting salary will be discussed at interview.
