Job overview
How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four*? Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we’re always looking for new ways to improve everyone’s work/life balance. We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent). If the trial is a success, we’ll be rolling the 4DWW out across the Group – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join #teamOFG!
We are looking for an SEN Teacher for our New Options Autism School – River Mill School in Stratford St, Mary, Suffolk.
* Up to £42,200 per annum, depending on experience (not pro rata)
* 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
* Permanent, Term Time only
* UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
About the role
As an SEN Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil’s achievement and ability to develop.

When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best. The successful candidate must be familiar with and happy to adopt a therapeutic approach to teaching and working with SEN/SEMH/Autistic pupils. You will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.
For this role, you should:
* Have previous experience teaching in an SEN school or experience working with pupils with complex additional needs.
* Have experience teaching and be able to plan fun and engaging sessions.
* Have a UK QTS or equivalent.
