Opportunity
Working as part of a multi-discipline team, Head Medical are seeking a Consultant in Urology to come to work for a leading private hospital in Hampshire, England.
The surgeon will provide a high standard and full range of specialist diagnosis, treatment and care to patients who need urology services, as required by the case mix agreed for Southampton Hospital.
Other duties that are expected but not limited to are as follows:
* Provide Consultant supervision to the day ward, outpatients, and inpatient wards for Consultant colleagues during their absence.
* Participate in the Centre's audit programme.
* Contribute to the development of Clinical Quality Standards.
* Undertake all necessary administrative duties associated with the care of his/her patients, including but not limited to clinical coding, discharge summaries, letters, and reports.
* Be responsible to the Unit Medical Director for the effective and efficient use of the resources under his/her control and for the quality of care delivered.
* Contribute to the planning and development of urology services.
* Contribute to the Centre meetings and clinical governance programme.
* Contribute to the teaching of Centre staff.
As the post holder, you will be responsible for liaising with senior colleagues in the neighbouring NHS Trust to effect the seamless transfer of acutely ill patients who require transfer across to the NHS.
There is no on-call commitment, but post holders must be prepared to assess patients urgently in person on the unit as requested by the RMO on duty during routine working hours.
Working patterns will be flexible and may entail an ad-hoc mix of late evenings and weekend work to meet the requirements of the unit.

The Hospital
* CQC rated good.
* Medium-sized hospital, featuring three operating theatres, a day surgery theatre, and an endoscopy suite, along with diagnostic imaging and physiotherapy departments.
* Currently has 25 inpatient beds.
* Outpatients department sees patients from all specialties available within the hospital such as ear, nose, and throat (ENT), general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, gynaecology, and pain management.
* The physiotherapy service provides a service to both inpatients and outpatients.
Requirements to Apply:
* Qualified urological surgeon on the Specialist Register of the GMC (FRCS or equivalent).
* UK experience as a Consultant of a minimum of 2 years.
* Broad general experience in urology with demonstrable expertise in endoscopic techniques.
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
* Able to conduct a clinical audit.
