Job overview
The Orchards is a nine bedded recovery unit for people with longer term mental health problems. It is situated near the picturesque cathedral city of Ripon. It is only 45 minutes from Leeds and York.
We aim to help people to manage and recover from mental health problems. We will encourage service users to take part in social activities and therapeutic groups to help them to learn daily living skills.
The purpose of our service is to service users gain greater independence and follow a healthy lifestyle, in order to achieve a good quality of life within the community.
The unit has nine en-suite bedrooms. We aim to create a relaxed, homely and informal atmosphere.
The unit is staffed twenty four hours a day by nursing staff. There is always a qualified nurse on duty.
This is an opportunity for a band 5 nurse with an interest in recovery to work within a rehab/recovery ward.
As are service we are committed to developing the individual practitioner and the team. Currently we have had staff complete the NMP course, CBT courses. The trust runs a course on systemic family interventions. Staff are supported to complete this., We will support you by offering regular supervision, training opportunities and encourage your development and role within this developing team on the delivery of Patient Centred Care, support for carers and evidence based practice. Newly qualified nurses will be offered a preceptorship package.
The successful applicant will be expected to work shifts covering 24/7 days and nights and public holidays.
This post is only open to those candidates who already have their NMC registration in place and have successfully completed the preceptorship programme. Please note: Newly qualified applicants or those due to qualify will be recruited via our recruitment fairs.
