We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Energy & Environment Officer. The role is Trust wide and plays a key role in developing Trust-wide initiatives by ensuring compliance with legislation, meeting national targets by encouraging and promoting organisation wide participation and awareness in environmental projects. The post holder will primarily support the Trust Sustainability Manager and the Trust Estates Manager. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job The post holder will join the Directorate of Strategic Transformation, Planning and Estate and Facilities Management. The post holder will support the Sustainability Manager to ensure the use of energy and utilities in the Trust’s buildings is managed effectively and efficiently to meet key operational requirements including procurement, contract management, reporting, compliance, and legislation. The post holder will assist the strategic development and delivery of carbon and energy solutions for the Trust’s buildings, focusing on scope 1 and scope 2 emissions to meet the Trust’s ambition to be carbon zero by 2030. The Energy & Environment Officer will use their specialist knowledge to manage decarbonisation projects from concept to completion, working alongside contractors and key stakeholders (such as staff) throughout to ensure each project is professional, inclusive and has impact. The postholder will support the team, as well as associated task and finish groups. These projects will be made possible using allocated funds or money secured through grants, which the Support Officer would research and apply for. The post holder will support the implementation of the Sustainability Strategy and will direct the development and delivery of projects in an efficient and effective manner. The post requires an individual who has excellent organisation, administration, and communication skills, as well as a full range of secretarial skills.
