The Finance Administrator will be highly organised, numerically driven, detail-oriented and have a good background in finance. They will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring accurate data entry. The post holder will be proficient in Xero accounting software and have a strong understanding of financial processes. They will produce account reports as required by the business and assist in budgeting.
Main duties of the job
Main responsibilities:
* Maintain and update financial records using Xero
* Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Manage and maintain Xero account package
* Manage accounts receivable and payable in a timely manner, ensuring unpaid invoices are chased up
* Maintain reports on financial metrics including monthly and quarterly reports
* Report on financial projections (e.g. liquidity and cash flow)
* Prepare monthly, quarterly reports, and assist the Deputy Manager, Business Development Manager and Finance Partner in preparing cash flow forecasts and budgeting
* Banking
* Make claims to PCN, ICB, GP Federation and other stakeholders
* Keep records of invoices and tax payments
* Proactively chase up debtors
* Manage the practice's liabilities (e.g. insurance premium)
* Identify and address account discrepancies
* Payroll Admin including staff salaries, banking, PAYE and pensions payments, SD55 termination, annual update
* Liaison with accountant and assist in preparation of annual year-end accounts reports
* Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for audits.
* Any other associated finance and accounting tasks

Requirements and skills
* Proven work experience as a Finance Administrator, Finance Assistant or similar role
* Hands-on experience with accounting software, like Xero
* Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions)
* Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures
* Time-management and organisation skills
