Shared Lives is changing lives - with more Carers we could change many more Shared Lives Carers (Adult Foster Carers) open their homes to support people from the age of 18, with learning disabilities, mental health, autism and Asperger's, physical disabilities, sensory impairment or are living with dementia and older people. For Carers it provides: A flexible, interesting job with a fantastic work life balance Great opportunities for skills development, working as a self-employed professional, with support from our team Payment depends on the support needs of the adult: - £350 to £643 per week, per placement, for Long Term placements. You can offer three types of service from your home; however, we are only recruiting for Long Term and Short Breaks currently - so you will need a spare bedroom. Long term – where the person would live with you and your family Short Breaks (respite) – where the person would come and stay for the odd night, weekend or week Day Support – where you would support someone, based from your home, for up to 5 hours.
