Team This role sits within an expanding Cyber Security function tasked with supporting and improving the ways in which we secure the University’s digital estate. The Cyber Security Team is seeking two enthusiastic Information Assurance Analysts to support the University to improve how it identifies, manages and secures the data that it holds across the entire breadth of the institution. About the role The role will work closely with the wider Cyber Security Team, the Data Protection Office and the University Records Manager and will seek to: Enhance the University of York's cyber security by identifying and securing information assets through technical and organisational controls Serve as a link between central Information Assurance functions and Faculties, Academic Departments, and third-party suppliers Support the maintenance and accuracy of Information Asset Registers (IARs) across departments Contribute to security initiatives, including policy development, project delivery, and assurance of software solutions Provide technical advice and develop business cases for security improvements while fostering adherence to security policies Skills, Experience & Qualification needed Holding a level 3 qualification or equivalent, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: An interest in Cyber Security and a passion for supporting users to work securely Strong collaboration and communication skills which will support working with IT teams, academic faculties, and external stakeholders An ability to interpret security standards, policies, and legislation An ability to analyse data and interpret trends Experience in delivering technical advice and in project or task management Interview date: Early February For an informal discussion about the post, please contact: Calum Stevens, Cyber Risk and Compliance Manager via calum.stevensyork.ac.uk.
