The role
The Training Design Lead is responsible to the Head of EPOCH2 Manager for the development of courseware. This role will produce DSAT compliant documentation for military training within a standardised design process.
This is a key role for a talented and innovative leader with the drive to transform a specific area of our Tranche 2 Training Design Service (TDS) delivery. Leading this aspect of the Courseware the successful person will enable the business to deliver learning that is blended, active and exceeds on customer expectations.
In this role there is great scope to make a significant and tangible impact to Royal Navy Training Design Services. Working in a dynamic business this role demands collaboration across a range of stakeholders, our ideal candidate will have led and operated in a commercially focused learning partnership; with experience of working at both a strategic and operational level. They will oversee the production and maintenance of all relevant training design documentation including FTS, TPS, TOs, WTS, RTGS, LSpecs and AStrat for course delivery.
This role will combine needs analysis and specialist knowledge to enable all teams to create relevant L&D interventions. Although this position will be working in a military environment, the right candidate does not need a military background.
Main Duties:
To develop training courseware through the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation & processes for military training. Leading a team of talented learning professionals you will:
1. Work as a member of a team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation & processes for military training sites and organisations.
2. Producing, maintaining and/or updating Training Design from: Formal Training Statement (FTS) (including the Training Performance Statement (TPS), Training Objectives (TOs), Workplace Training Statement (WTS) and Residual Training Gap Statement (RTGS) to delivery of Assessment Strategy (AStrat) and Assessment Specification (ASpec), Learning Specification (LSpec) Training Authorisation Document (TrAD) in DSAT compliant course templates.
3. Interviewing subject matter experts to collate required data.
4. Participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.
5. The upkeep, update and revalidation of course syllabi and standards, trainer competence, qualification and experience requirements.
6. Conducting the upkeep, update, and revalidation of course information, including but not limited to, course size limits, health and safety, relevant rules and regulations, course length and required support and resources.
7. Conducting and maintain Training Design in response to new training requirements, including those arising from New Capabilities, to ensure that training satisfies operational / workplace performance requirements, provides the design output requirements required by the Authority and is kept up-to-date.
8. Updating Training Design materials to incorporate relevant recommendations and feedback from internal and external assurance, to ensure that training remains up-to-date and satisfies operational/workplace performance requirements.
9. Identifying opportunities to provide accreditation for new and/or amended training as designed, and/or any amendments or implications for existing accreditations following Training Design changes.
Candidate Requirements:
10. Demonstrable experience leading a team in the design and delivery of courseware in a blended approach to learning solutions.
11. Excellent communication skills at all levels both internally and within the customer organisation.
12. Experience in course design and have contributed to the design of significant training courses.
13. A good working knowledge of the training design and development processes for training media.
14. Experienced and capable of working autonomously and within a team.
15. Current holder, or able to attain the required SC level security clearance.(Raytheon UK will sponsor) C&M
