M4 Recruitment are seeking a Vehicle PDC Technician Assistant for our client based at Chipping Warden. This is a temp to perm position, with an immediate start available.
Job Role
To work in the Flow Workshop as part of a small team, maintaining vehicles to specific manufacturer guidelines and ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and in keeping with the high standards and demands of the client. Working alongside other Technicians, and regularly interacting with the Technical Services office. You will also have direct contact with both the Inspection team and Client Services.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday
Pay: Between £27000 & £28000
Key Accountabilities
1. Carry out vehicle health checks as part of a flow line.
2. Carry out PDI’s and PDC’s in a manner that best reflects the manufacturer and their specification stated on each prep tick sheet.
3. Manage own check sheet completion through use of AssetCare system on a tablet.
4. Work with the Garage Support and Technician Team to promote consistent productivity in the Workshop, ensuring there is no unnecessary down time.
5. Ensure the correct completion of all mechanical job-related documentation through AssetCare, reporting any issues found, any parts required and detailing work completed.
6. Detect any vehicle defects and/or symptoms of impending failure and report to our Damage Controller if repairs cannot be carried out on site.
7. Occasionally as required, carry out minor repairs, servicing and tyre replacements.
8. Ensure that all company equipment and tools are kept in a clean, safe condition at all times and to report any shortage or damage/faulty equipment to the Technical Services Manager.
9. Comply with the site’s health and safety procedures and processes, including keeping the workshop area clean and wearing any relevant PPE.
10. Responsibility for housekeeping within your work area.
11. Carrying out other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
Experience & Skills
Essential
1. City & Guilds 1 & 2 in Motor Vehicle Studies or Higher BTEC.
2. Relevant experience in a workshop environment.
3. Good awareness of quality standards.
4. Has a professional attitude, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal departments.
Desirable
1. Successful completion of Manufacturer’s training courses.
2. Good level of industry knowledge/awareness.
3. Good problem-solving skills.
4. Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised to achieve high standards.
