BioSkryb is a venture-backed startup bringing new solutions for cellular heterogeneity in both the research and clinical space studies using our proprietary genome amplification system. BioSkryb’s technology enables even coverage of the entire genome during DNA amplification and allows for unparalleled accuracy and uniformity in DNA sequence coverage and base calling. This technology will enable a new generation of single cell and low DNA genomics applications in diverse markets like cancer genomics, bacterial genomics, personal genomics and Minimal Residual Disease testing. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join an exciting and fast-growing to help develop novel scalable genome amplification applications. The individual will utilize a variety of tools, from liquid handlers to microfluidics, to scale BioSkryb’s core competencies. Duties will include coordinating with research scientists on emerging technologies, refinement and testing of products, and development of scripts and procedures for customer deployment of solutions. Additionally, the successful candidate will work independently to develop novel solutions and applications for BioSkryb technology. Responsibilities Translate pipet-based workflow efficiently to automated platforms Reveal efficiencies in automated chemistry workflows to improve scale and customer satisfaction Develop and qualify software scripts for deployment to customer sites Provide customer support for high value customers dependent on automation Create novel approaches to using BioSkryb technology utilizing microfluidics Coordinate with research scientists to commercialize feasible scientific ideas Conceptualize and communicate embodiments of product ideas Prepare sequencing libraries using existing products and custom solutions Develop procedures and SOPs for assay performance optimization Emphasize data quality and the efficient execution of experiments Organize, analyze, intrepet and present experimental data Minimum Qualifications BA/BS in a relevant field (Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, etc) 2-4 years of relevant experience with automation instruments, notably Automated Liquid Handlers Experience developing, qualifying and validating scripts for automated platforms Experience writing and developing SOP’s and documentation procedures Excellent oral and written communication skills Attention to detail and action oriented Additional Preferred Qualifications PhD in relevant field 4-6 years of relevant experience with automation instruments, notably Automated Liquid Handlers Experimental experience with designing and developing droplet microfluidic platforms Experience designing and executing verification and validation studies, including stability studies, critical parameter testing, and DoE-driven analyses Experience in operating Next generation sequencing systems BioSkryb, Inc. is committed to equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to a person's race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or any characteristic protected under applicable law.
