A very rareopportunity has arisen within the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity DisorderTeam. This post would be perfect for someone with an interest in supportingservice users with neurodiverse conditions such as Autism and ADHD which areoften found co-morbidly. This role is primarily to support the diagnosis andtreatment of ADHD and will require a Non-medical prescriber qualification or awillingness and ability to undertake this.
TheADHD team are welcoming and friendly to work with, consisting of a specialistNurse, Assistant Psychologist, Peer Support Worker, Administrator and ConsultantPsychiatrist. They are based at Val Waterfront Centre, working alongside membersof Care Plus Group Staff in the Adult Autism Service and Faraway.
Main duties of the job
You will drawon your experience and knowledge and administer evidence based assessment toolsto support your clinical judgement in the assessment of adults with ADHD. Youwill work as part of a team to diagnose ADHD and signpost people who don't meetthe ADHD criteria to more appropriate services.
You willbuild up a caseload of people who you will prescribe medication for treatmentof their ADHD. You may also support them with input from the Peer Supportworker and where appropriate, with other NICE approved interventions.
youwill be part of an MDT approach and support the triage and screening ofreferrals, discussions relating to diagnostic assessments andtreatment/prescribing of medication.

MAIN DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES:
Extensiveexperience of working in partnership with service users, carers and otheragencies.
Extensiveexperience in carrying out complex interventions, will demonstrate that theseskills are maintained and shares those skills with other team members.
To respondto unpredictable situations of risk and manage these in a safe, professionaland holistic manner using DICES risk assessment and management plans
Will behighly skilled in all aspects of clinical communication including themaintenance of accurate records

Todemonstrate and apply a highly skilled level of clinical and professionalsupervision. (Utilising a variety oftechniques underpinned by a variety of models and experience).
Will haveevidence of continuous personal and professional development and be activelyinvolved in case load management supervision, clinical supervision and clinicalaudit within the team.
Completedevelopmental history and interpret with the aid of assessment tools for thosereferred with a potential ADHD diagnosis in line with the National Standardsand NICE guidelines.
Manage andco-ordinate independently community-led clinics and share with the ConsultantPsychiatrist(s) the management of any medication interventions, to prescribeand adjust treatment appropriately working within agreed protocols andguidelines.
Participatein administration and interpretation of specific assessment tools within ADHDassessment and communicate the results to the Multidisciplinary Team.
Act as aspecialist expert resource within the service in respect of this service usergroup working autonomously to support families and other health careprofessionals. To attend variousmultiagency meetings to advice, write specialist reports and plan care, actingas a patients advocate when appropriate.
Participateand lead complex MDT Clinics to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluatetreatment/interventions and care for people with ADHD.
Explores andanalyses evidence, cases and situations in clinical practice, enabling a highlevel of judgment and decision making
Deliversadvanced practice which is evidence based within service

Assure andmaintain oversight of pre-diagnostic assessment schedules to enable thedelivery of diagnosis for most people on most occasions within amultidisciplinary formulation process/meeting
Identifywhen to refer to relevant team for non-neurodiverse primary problems identifiedin a timely manner
Interpretthe results of multiple assessments and investigations within sphere ofcompetence, to include, but not restricted to, blood results, ECGs, X-ray andCT results, in order to formulate a diagnosis and plan and deliver care inconcordance with appropriate NICE Guidelines
Monitorphysical health of service users on long term antipsychotic medications in linewith NICE Guidelines and practice in line with the appropriate shared carepathways
Support thedevelopment of the Non-Medical Advanced Practitioner pathway and supervisejunior staff as required.

Essential
1. Registered healthcare professional (eg NMC or HCPC)
2. Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification or willingness to undertake this course

4. An excellent understanding of mental health conditions and services, including relevant legislation.
5. Knowledge and understanding of the assessment and management of service users in determining whether presentations may be because of ADHD or other differential diagnosis.
6. Good knowledge of typical and disordered child development and the potential impact of ADHD on the emotional, intellectual and social development and ability to recognise co-morbidities and secondary behaviours.
7. Knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights and its importance.

8. Experience of working with Adults with a wide range of mental health or neurodiverse conditions.
9. Demonstratable experience of complete decision making and of leading complex case multi disciplinary meetings
10. Previous demonstrable experience in managing highly complex cases
11. Previous mentor or supervisory role and ability to demonstrate principles and values of clinical supervision
12. Significant experience where a degree of autonomous working has been required

13. Demonstrable and extensive understanding and knowledge of Neurodiverse, mental and physical health conditions across the age range
14. Previous leadership roles or qualifications and responsibility for managerial supervision
