Job Title: Healthcare Assistant in Outpatients
Location: Cheshire; The Wilmslow Hospital, 52-54 Alderley Rd
Employment Type: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Mon-Sat (early shift 7:30am-3:30pm or late shift 12:30pm-8:30pm)
Salary: £22,406 - £23,576 per annum, depending on experience + benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits, career development)
We are recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join The Wilmslow Hospital team.
The hospital features advanced technology including a 3T MRI scanner, laminar flow operating theatres, 13 consultant rooms, diagnostic imaging suite, 2 operating theatres, and a dedicated women’s health unit. The Outpatients Department services various specialties, providing opportunities to develop diverse skills.
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Healthcare Assistant will carry out observations, investigations, and basic treatments. Responsibilities also include overseeing patient chaperoning and assisting medical staff with daily tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Greet patients, visitors, consultants, and staff professionally and warmly.
* Assist with patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including basic assessments.
* Maintain stock levels and equipment usage.
* Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
* Chaperone patients and equipment for appointments and clinics.
* Maintain confidentiality for all clients and staff.
* Communicate care effectively to patients and their families.
* Assist in theatre, recovery, and ultrasound-guided procedures.
* Develop skills in patient instruction, advice, and care throughout treatment.
* Assist with clinical documentation.
* Perform other duties as instructed by line manager.
* Report concerns to the nurse in charge.
* Decontaminate instruments and equipment.

* NVQ in Health and Social Care (essential)
