We have two exciting opportunities available to join our Supported Living team in Scarborough as Holistic Support Advisors. We have a part-time position available (18.5 hours per week) and a full-time position (37 hours per week).
In this role, you will accept referrals and manage a caseload of customers, providing intensive interventions and harm reduction information, advice, and guidance. Your focus will be on supporting individuals with complex support and housing needs, particularly those who were previously homeless. Your goal is to enable and empower them to maintain a tenancy and connect with various internal and external support services in Scarborough.
You will assist customers in accessing various statutory and voluntary services to improve their circumstances and sustain their tenancy. This will be achieved through home and community visits, as well as developing a robust risk and support plan to enable customers to achieve independence.
This demanding and rewarding role requires a driven person with a sound knowledge of social and medical referral pathways as well as a skill for problem solving and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, as well as respond calmly and effectively to crisis.
The ideal candidate will be confident, approachable, and knowledgeable, possessing a calm demeanour. They should have the ability to take control of situations and empower customers towards independence. A solid understanding of a Trauma-Informed Approach, safeguarding, and mental capacity is essential.
You must be able to communicate clearly and confidently with customers in crisis, as well as collaborate effectively with fellow housing and support professionals in both the statutory and third/voluntary sectors.
As you proactively support customers with complex needs, you will be required to provide regular planned and responsive support outside of standard hours.
This post will be collocated within the North Yorkshire Council “Reach” team based at King's Street, Scarborough Town Hall.
