5 Teaching Fellow Posts - UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION
There is a fantastic job opportunity coming up at Northwick Park Hospital starting in August and September 2025 for an initial period of 1 year (negotiable and extendable subject to performance). The post comes with the responsibility of teaching undergraduates and offers clinical opportunities if desired. The job provides the candidate the opportunity to obtain a Certificate in Medical Education (requires a separate application).
Depending on the interests of the successful applicant, the clinical training & research will take place within Northwick Park Hospital LNWH Trust.
The post holder will be expected to spend at least 75% of their contracted time helping to develop, co-ordinate, and deliver a high standard of clinical teaching to the medical students, with the remainder of their time dedicated to clinical work & research.
However, the number of students varies throughout the year (see the “timetable/grand plan” below), and at times there may be greater teaching commitments. During June & July, it may be less, allowing the Teaching Fellow to devote more time to their research & clinical work. Thus, flexibility and initiative are essential.
Accountability
The teaching component of the posts will be accountable to Dr. Jaita Mukherjee and Dr. Chima Oti. The clinical and research components will be accountable to the appropriate consultant physician or surgeon. Day-to-day reporting will be with the Undergraduate Education Manager, Mrs. Monika Srubkowska.
Responsibilities of the Post
The individual work plan will be decided between the DCS, the relevant Consultant Physician, and the successful appointee. Although “out of hours” clinical work is encouraged where possible, the teaching duties must take priority. It is not acceptable to work a night on call and take the next day off. The post holder will be expected to attend regular Faculty Meetings.
