The Role
This role will support the development of service implementation of annual physical health checks for all people with Learning Disabilities in Lanarkshire.
The post holder will support the senior charge nurse on the Scottish Governments guidance that an annual health check is offered to:
1. those aged 16 and over who are known by the board to have a learning disability; and
2. those aged 16 and over who identify themselves as having a learning disability (whether or not that learning disability has been formally diagnosed and regardless of whether its mild, moderate sever or profound).
What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Nurse with valid UKNMC Registration
* The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent time management skills
Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence and access to vehicle.
It would be great if you also have
* Up to date with NHS mandatory training
* Recent experience in Learning Disability inpatients
* Good knowledge around mental health and related legislation
* Knowledge of health inequalities
* Demonstrate evidence based practice and knowledge and experience in LD
* Clinical practice skills, Phlebotomy, ECG interpretation etc

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based within Learning Disability within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters, but will cover Lanarkshire.
