Senior Bid Writer – Mental Health and MSK Services
This position is crucial in ensuring the organisation continues its track record of securing NHS and social care contracts. You will be responsible for the end-to-end bid writing process, from identifying opportunities to developing compelling responses and submissions.
As an experienced Bid Writer, you will work closely with subject matter experts, operational teams, and key stakeholders to develop winning proposals that reflect the organisation's commitment to excellence in mental health and social care services. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring a junior team member, ensuring best practices in bid management and supporting their development.
Location: The role is home-based with occasional travel required for meetings or visits to the Head Office near Ipswich and other regional offices across the UK.

Requirements:
* Strong writing and editorial skills with a keen eye for detail
* Proven experience in bid writing, preferably within healthcare, social care, or public sector tenders
* Strong organisational and project management skills
* Experience using tender portals and bid management tools
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* APMP certification (desirable but not essential)
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage and mentor junior team members
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of bid responses, including bid identification, content structuring, and electronic submissions
* Identify trends in tender requirements and ensure the business meets these needs (e.g., accreditations, CSR, Equality & Diversity)
* Manage and update the organisation’s bid pipeline, tracking key opportunities and ensuring full visibility of active and upcoming tenders
* Work with internal teams, including Operations, Quality, Clinical, and Business Development, to gather necessary information for bid responses
* Maintain and manage tender alert systems and portals to ensure all opportunities are captured
* Prepare and deliver bid presentations when required
* Provide mentorship and support to a junior team member, overseeing their development in bid management
* Ensure bid responses are clear, persuasive, and evidence-based
* Manage subject matter experts in terms of bid submission, coordinating their involvement effectively
* Attend tender and proposal briefings, liaising with operations to develop compelling and relevant collateral
