Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic, innovative and highly motivated registered ODP or RGN with post registration Anaesthetic qualification, who have a wide range of clinical skills, to work within our theatres. So, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a recently qualified ODP we would love to hear from you. The vacancy is to work within the anaesthetic support team, however we do positively encourage practitioners who would like the opportunity to dual role either in Scrub or PACU, as we appreciate the value of keeping multi skilled. Main duties of the job Using your anaesthetic qualification you will be a key member of the peri-operative team ensuring that the patient receives excellent standards of care. You will be confident in supporting the Anaesthetist and preparing a range of medical devices, communicating to the wider theatre team and putting the patient at the heart of everything that you do. Those wishing to dual role or keep/gain your preferred skills in scrub or recovery we will facilitate this within our teams. You will be driven to ensure the standards of care you deliver are effective, current and evidenced-based and enjoy working with your team to ensure the smooth running of the department. We offer support starting with your Induction process through to offering in-house and external courses, we promote multiskilling into scrub and/or recovery for practitioners who wish to do so. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities To support the Theatre Manager in the establishing good working atmosphere and participate in effective/efficient use of staff, supplies and services. To provide a high level of support to the perioperative team in the delivery of patient care, within the theatre area. To work collaboratively with the Anaesthetic/surgical consultant body, to ensure best possible outcome for the patients, with a high priority on patient safety. To participate in achieving the stated Quality Assurance and Risk Management objectives set by the organisation. To ensure all equipment is regularly checked and maintained in a safe manner.
