The salary for this permanent Lead Nurse job is £50,375 - £56,329 per annum.

Main Duties:
* Oversee Clinical and Care Needs: Maintain comprehensive oversight of the clinical and care needs of all patients, ensuring that individualised care plans are developed and implemented effectively. Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), including nurses, to collaborate with patients, their families, and community teams, ensuring that the unique needs of each person are met with the highest standard of care.
* Provide Leadership and Stay Current: Stay informed about national guidelines, emerging best practices, and new developments in the field. Lead by example, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Provide clear guidance and mentorship to your team, including Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) and Healthcare Assistants (HCAs), supporting their professional development and education.
* Clinical Risk Management and Assessment: Prioritise proactive clinical risk assessments, ensuring that potential risks are identified early and managed effectively. Oversee comprehensive nursing assessments and play a key role in the development and implementation of clinical models that enhance patient outcomes.
* Quality Improvement and Innovation: Drive quality improvement initiatives, focusing on enhancing the overall standard of care within the team. Promote and implement least restrictive interventions, ensuring that patient autonomy and safety are maintained. Lead efforts in medication management, ensuring that prescribing practices are safe, effective, and aligned with best practice guidelines.
* Collaborate and Develop Care Strategies: Work in close partnership with other healthcare professionals to develop and refine care strategies that meet the complex needs of patients. This includes contributing to the design and execution of care pathways, clinical protocols, and service development projects.
* Support and Empower Your Team: Empower your team by fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth. Provide regular feedback, conduct performance appraisals, and ensure that all team members are supported in their roles, enabling them to deliver the highest quality care.
* Monitor and Evaluate Outcomes: Regularly review and evaluate patient outcomes, care processes, and clinical practices to ensure that standards are being met and that there is continuous improvement. Use data and feedback to inform changes in practice and to celebrate successes within the team.
* Advocate for Patient-Centred Care: Champion a patient-centred approach to care, ensuring that the dignity, preferences, and individual rights of each patient are respected and upheld in all clinical decisions and actions. Advocate for the best possible patient outcomes in all interactions, whether with patients, their families, or other healthcare providers.
Requirements of the Lead Nurse:
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with active NMC registration and specialised training in relevant clinical skills such as DBT or CBT.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working within multidisciplinary teams in relevant clinical environments.
* A strong clinical leader with experience in leading service development projects and working effectively across organisational boundaries.
* Outstanding communicator with the ability to adapt your approach to suit individual strengths and needs, and skilled at collaborating with colleagues across various disciplines, levels of seniority, and expertise.
