We are recruiting for a Booking Clerk who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You should have the ability to work without direct supervision, be able to prioritise and manage workloads in order to support our team.
You will provide professional and efficient administrative support to the secretaries, service coordinator, ward clerk and consultants. Duties will include booking appointments, receipting clinics, cashing up clinics, creating referrals, cancelling and rebooking clinics and maintaining ERS.
You will apply a high degree of confidentiality to all of your work.
You will undertake these duties with and without direct supervision, working within broad procedural guidelines.

Main duties of the job
1. To work in outpatient clinics, welcoming the patients in and marking them as arrived on our computer system and then cashing up the clinic. Deal with enquiries in person and via the telephone and act as the first point of contact.
2. Liaise with Consultants, Outreach Sisters, Maternity Clinic manager and Deputy General Manager / Service Coordinator to arrange for additional clinics to be set up when needed.
3. Liaise with Consultants, Consultants' PAs, Service Coordinator and the patient administration office to cancel and rebook clinics within the Trust guideline due to annual leave, study leaves and Trust rolling half days.
4. To book appointments for the Neonatal Unit and deal effectively with GP and Consultants' queries regarding patients' appointments and clinic details.
5. To manage the clinics effectively and ensure that patients do not breech the current waiting times by monitoring the clinics appointments effectively.
6. Supporting the ward clerk in prepping the notes for clinic.
7. Have knowledge of the patient administration computerised system and support the team in maintaining accurate health records and tracking system.
8. Ensure all follow up appointments are made in a timely manner.
