These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won’t be solved by science alone. We are looking for an Agile Delivery Manager to join our team on a fixed term basis. Where in Wellcome will I be working? You will be part of the Strategy & Governance team within the Digital & Technology department reporting to the Senior Delivery Manager. In this role, you will matrix work with teams in the Digital & Technology department. We currently have several projects and product/workstream teams, whose work consists of public-facing websites, Tableau dashboards, infrastructure, research content search engines and a bespoke CRM system for all our grants. We work primarily with agile to deliver on our products and projects. What will I be doing? You will work with one of our technical project, product or workstream teams to deliver frequent value to our users incrementally, shaping their ways of working across all aspects of the project lifecycle. You will work closely with subject matter experts to set goals and help the team to deliver towards those goals. You will be responsible for identifying blockers or dependencies that will slow down progress and work with people involved to mitigate them. You will also be working with the rest of the delivery team and where appropriate, championing our ways of working across the organisation. As a Delivery Manager, you will: Have a flexible approach to the end-to-end delivery of projects, expertly tailoring agile methodologies to ensure they are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards Identify areas for optimization and implement best practices to enhance product team ways of working Foster a high-performing team environment, ensuring effective communication and coordination among team members, conflict management and resolution and collaboration with other departments Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing any issues that may impact project delivery Be the point of communication for progress and provide up-to-date and realistic delivery estimates Support with informed goal setting, having a familiarity of sprint goals and OKR setting techniques Have a data-informed approach to decision-making, especially when tailoring ways of working to team needs Is this job for me? The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in Wellcome’s mission and strategic priorities, as well as someone who: Has minimum 2 years experience working as a delivery manager, scrum master or agile project manager Is experienced working collaboratively with subject matter experts, product managers, designers, user researchers and software developers and approaches challenges diplomatically and tactfully Is experienced evalutating and applying concepts and techniques from multiple Agile (and related) methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban Has an analytical and creative approach to problem-solving Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals and OKRs Proven experience in managing stakeholders and building strong relationships with both internal and external parties Is committed to EDI, ensuring an inclusive approach is taken into product and workstream delivery To apply for this role please submit an update CV and answer 2 application questions to demonstrate that you meet the minimum requirements for the role.
