Job Title: HSEQ Advisor
Location: Office based with some field work involving clients, suppliers and construction sites.
Hours of Work: 38 hours, Monday-Friday with 3:00pm finish on Friday (some flexibility available)
Reports to: HSEQ Manager
Where you fit: As part of the HSEQ department, this role involves continued learning around all aspects of HSEQ Management whilst providing administrative support in maintaining records and evidence of compliance.
Key Objectives: Responsible for supporting the HSEQ Manager in delivering all aspects of the company’s HSEQ management systems.
Job Challenge: Ensure a high level of HSEQ performance is maintained across the company at all times. Undertake training as required to develop skills, knowledge, competence and credibility in this current role.
Main Tasks:
* Maintain records, registers, and databases
* Day to day HSE (risk assessments, compliance etc.)
* Fire safety management
* Work with other departments providing guidance and advice on HSEQ matters
* Assist in internal and external HSEQ audits and certification assessments
* Maintaining third-party approvals through on-line platforms and external audits
* Provide general clerical assistance across all HSEQ tasks
* Drive a positive HSEQ culture
* Improve performance at all levels of the business by supporting delivery of the annual HSEQ strategy, objectives, and targets
* Accidents and incident reporting
* Become a Fieldwire expert (construction software)
* Quality management and Maple Way champion (implementation, change control, audits)
* Inspection and test plans (ITP’s)
* Provide support and assistance in other areas of the business as directed
Key Performance Indicators:
* All HSEQ records and documents up-to-date, available at the point of use and readily accessible through the agreed methods
* Positive near miss and incident metrics
* External approvals and certifications maintained
* All audits and annual reviews completed on time
* Personal development milestones as agreed with the HSEQ Manager
Person Specification:
Essential:
* GCSE / A Level English and Maths
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Computer literate especially competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite in particular Excel and Word
* At least 3 years experience in the construction industry or related industry
* Ability to demonstrate success in previous roles
* Personal Qualities: Good communicator, able to relate to all types of individuals (staff, customers, suppliers)
* Ability to challenge
* Self-motivated and has a desire to progress
* Ability to motivate other staff in HSEQ compliance
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Calm and resilient under pressure
* High moral standards, leads by example
* Can work autonomously
Desirable:
* Internal Auditor (up to date)
* CSCS Card
* Quality Certifications
* Environmental awareness
* Evidence of having managed other staff
* Knowledge of manufacturing and construction methods
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
* Can demonstrate effective use of own initiative in pressured situations
* Ability to develop internal and external relationships to ensure compliance with requirements
