Who You Are An experienced Child Care Social Worker with substantial Local Authority or Voluntary Sector experience and post-qualification expertise. Hold a Social Work Qualification (CQSW/DipSW/CSS) and be registered with the Care Council for Wales. Possess detailed knowledge of Child Care Legislation, especially in terms of Child Protection, Looked After Children, and other Children in Need. A qualified practice assessor or willing to undertake training with a strong understanding of Microsoft software. Innovative with the ability to manage complex cases efficiently and effectively; experience in assessment work and Joint Investigation work is beneficial. Able to motivate and guide staff, with student supervision experience being advantageous. A valid driving license is necessary. What the Job Involves Managing and executing social work tasks with a focus on complex cases related to assessments, care planning, and the creation of support packages to promote the welfare of children. Providing supervision and direction to team members, promoting professional development, providing feedback and emotional support, and addressing staff's training needs. Initiating and assisting with specific service developments including Group Work, Self Help, and Support Groups. Leading as a duty manager on a rota basis, offering advice and guidance to team members when necessary. Directing and managing social workers’ caseloads, and co-working on challenging social work tasks. Practicing as an assessor and facilitator for student social workers on placement. The role operates from the Haverfordwest-based office with required visits within Pembrokeshire. Social Care Wales registration is required; candidates in the process of registration holding SWE will be considered. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the role is required. Salary offered at £33.00 PAYE.
