Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Art Therapist to join a leading therapeutic school that has been transforming the lives of young people for over 12 years. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment where your artistic expertise will directly impact vulnerable students who have experienced profound trauma and adversity.
Their therapeutic school provides a nurturing space for children and teenagers who often struggle to thrive in mainstream education. You will play a crucial role in helping them express their emotions and build resilience through creative art practices.
Role Responsibilities:
* As an Art Therapist, your expertise will be essential in delivering effective therapeutic support. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing one-to-one and group art therapy sessions focused on emotional expression and regulation.
* Conducting assessments to identify the needs of students and developing tailored intervention plans.
* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and educators, to support the overall wellbeing of students.
* Facilitating art workshops that promote social interaction and emotional healing.
* Writing assessments and progress reports for annual reviews.
What We’re Looking For:
* A formal degree in Art Therapy and active registration with the HCPC.
* Experience working with children and adolescents facing emotional and mental health challenges.
* Newly qualified art therapists with an active HCPC are encouraged to apply; a focus on trauma-informed care is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a creative, flexible approach to therapy.
