At Volvo Trucks, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in service and products for our customers. Our dealership is at the forefront of commercial vehicle service, and we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Parts Advisor to join our growing team.
Role
In this role your main responsibilities will focus on delivering an excellent service to our Depot Technicians by supplying HGV parts and allowing them to carry out repair and maintenance to vehicles in the workshop. Alongside this, you will also deal with customers face to face and via telephone enquiries, providing a first-class service. As part of the role, you may also be required to pick up and deliver parts, so a Full UK Driving Licence is a necessity.
What you will do
1. Receiving deliveries, record and store parts in stockroom according to prearranged systems.
2. Locating and labeling parts and maintaining inventory of stock, reporting stock shortages to parts supervisor.
3. Maintain a good standard of housekeeping, operating within health & safety company guidelines.
4. Produce parts quotations for internal/external customers.
5. Documenting and supervising the condition of parts returned for credit including old unit cores and reporting damaged or unsuitable items to the Parts Supervisor.
6. Ensuring that all parts and returns are correctly labelled and packed, alongside the relevant documentation and paperwork.
7. Discussing part features and uses with customers whilst proactively promoting and selling parts.
8. Accurately compile parts from job cards for repairs being carried out in the workshop.
9. Feedback all information about competitors to Parts Supervisor.
10. Work with Parts Supervisor to achieve their maximum competency level.
11. Pick up and deliver parts on occasion.
Who are you?
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Driving Licence required.
2. Able to identify different parts using catalogues and systems.
3. Numerical ability to be able to work with part numbers.
4. To be able to effectively communicate at all levels both written and verbally with people inside the organization as well as external customers.
5. Selling/influencing others to buy additional parts.
6. IT literate to competently use DMS and associated software & systems.
7. Proactive, enthusiastic and approachable.
8. Accuracy and attention to detail.
9. Flexible and positive approach to changing circumstances / priorities.
