Health Care Assistant/ Nursing Associate
Tudor Medical Group is a GP Practice located in Wolverhampton serving approximately 22,000 patients over 4 branches, all within close proximity.
We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA)/ Nursing Associate (NA) to join our expanding team. There is an opportunity for a HCA/NA to start immediately on a permanent contract (hours negotiable), but previous GP Practice experience is essential.
There is a well-developed Nursing team to work with, comprising of Clinical Nurse Lead, Practice Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Community Nurse, Diabetes Nurse Specialist, and 2 HCAs. We also have allied health professionals including 4 Physician Associates, 1 Pharmacy Practitioner, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, and 2 Pharmacy Technicians. These teams are supported by General Practitioners and an experienced Administrative team. A streamlined proactive approach to daily work makes the workload manageable and enjoyable. Systems used include EMIS Web, Docman, ICE Lexacom, and AccuRx. Staff are encouraged to engage in training relevant to the post after discussion with the Nurse Lead.
Main duties of the job
The Health Care Assistant/ Nurse Associate will support the nursing and clinical team. The role will require the post holder to run their own clinics, ensuring the appropriate guidelines and templates are followed. Responsibilities include measuring and recording physiological measurements in routine presentations and assisting in managing long-term conditions, including phlebotomy. Assist Doctors during minor surgery (more details in the attached document). The post involves a mixture of appointments including face-to-face, telephone video, online consultation, and home visits.
The HCA/NA will contribute to administrative duties within General Practice including actioning clinical correspondence, EMIS tasks, IPC audits, and stock taking. Training will be provided in these areas where needed, but existing experience is beneficial.

The HCA will have access to a supervising Practice Nurse or General Practitioner for clinical support and advice. All staff work across all 4 sites, adding variety to the role. All sites are in close proximity to the centre of Wolverhampton.
Job responsibilities
The Health Care Assistant will play a major role in supporting the practice with chronic disease management as per QoF guidelines, administer vaccines such as Influenza, Shingles, Vitamin B12, and Pneumococcal, and strive to improve standards of care while being involved in identifying practice population needs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Basic computer experience
* Willingness to undertake an NVQ or an equivalent qualification
* Understanding of issues regarding accountability and delegation. Please find attached document for further details.
Experience
* Experience of working in a GP Practice previously with patients with long-term conditions is preferred
* Experience of working in a GP Practice previously is preferred
