Job Advert: Humanities Teacher for SEMH School in South London (CR3) About the school: Melrose school is a specialist school catering for pupils aged 5-16 years all with EHCP's. Students have primarily Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs with some additional needs such as ADHD, Trauma or Speech and Language needs. Focusing on a nurturing environment working alongside CAMHS, Speech and Language therapists, Occupational therapists, educational psychologists, Social Workers and Mentors. Position: Humanities Teacher School Type: Independent Specialist Behavioural Needs School (PRU) Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Full Time, 5 days per week Start Date: ASAP Salary: Paid according to experience and qualifications Location: Mitcham, CR3 Contract: Long-term position with potential to turn into a permanent placement Roles and Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Humanities subjects tailored to the needs of students with SEMH. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment to support students' social and emotional development. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support where needed. Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance the learning experience.Requirements: Proven experience teaching children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly in an SEMH setting. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A current DBS check registered on the Update Service. The right to work in the UK.
