Process Chemist
Salary: £36,500-£41,500
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Shifts: Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00
Location: Cotes Park Industrial Estate, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 4PA
Position Summary
As a Process Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring that both new and existing products, are made safely and in line with the product specification.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the relevant functions to evaluate product manufacture feasibility and handling capability for materials and components.
* Develop and validate manufacture and cleaning instructions using data trending and analyses.
* Ensure that SAP product and material set up workflows are executed.
* Carry out training on products, materials and processes.
* Use statistical techniques and lead activities to improve process capability, increase efficiency and reduce costs.
* Plan and deliver complex product change management projects.
* Follow MOC processes to ensure products are introduced safely, including carrying out process safety and COSHH Assessments.
* Lead Problem Solves and Complaint Investigations relating to formulation and microbiological issues.
* Provide technical support for Capital Engineering Project.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
* Background in chemistry (degree level or similar with workplace experience) and a proven track record in a similar role (Essential).
* Experienced SAP user (Essential).
* Project management experience.
* Knowledge of continuous Improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean processes, etc.
* Understanding of safety and environmental regulations relating to chemical manufacture (Desirable).
