As Senior Process Engineer, you will provide and ensure the quality of all deliverables meet SEW and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Lead Process Engineer, the Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for their own technical deliverables whilst providing support and coaching to other staff as required. This includes ensuring that Engineering outputs align with the Asset, Regulatory, Water Quality and Operational strategies of the business. You will be responsible for evaluation and selection of process options during project feasibility and design, incorporating efficiencies and innovation into their solutions to deliver the business need. Responsibilities of the role will include ensuring quality and CDM2015 compliance of technical delivery whilst utilising and continuously improving the SEW's engineering specification and quality assurance processes. Main Responsibilities: Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and appraise process design solutions for water treatment works. Providing technical solutions and support on complex capital projects, including the production of project scoping documents, Works & Site Information, Design Drawings, CDM Documents and compilation of job packs to required deadlines. Preparing process design calculations and reviewing Contractor design calculations. Evaluating Whole Life Cost and TOTEX costings for process solutions. Developing Process and asset performance guarantees. Developing robust risk assessed solutions that deliver value to the business. Ensure quality of deliverables meet business and regulatory needs, including Check and Review of project scopes ensuring they achieve the required outputs and quality standards. Providing process-related technical support for commissioning of schemes. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to seek approvals and facilitate project progress. Optimising operation of new and existing assets and identifying and evaluating innovative processes and equipment. Mentoring of Graduate and Process Engineers at project level, promoting and encouraging Chartership. You'll need (essential): Degree level or equivalent, preferably in chemical engineering or a relevant scientific or engineering field. Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status. Knowledge of clean water treatment processes, awareness of the environment or similar industrial background. A keen, committed and motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate and influence senior colleagues. Ability to demonstrate and implement sound engineering judgement, identifying innovative solutions to complex problems. Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and how it is applied to projects. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel/Google Workspace would be an advantage. Excellent time management skills. A passion for continuous professional development. A recognised senior engineer with substantial industry experience with a reputation for technical excellence. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical role focusing on designing and optimising clean water treatment process plants. A strong awareness and understanding of industry standards, regulations and specifications. Understanding of NEC contracts and their application. Understanding of CDM 2015 and how it is applied to projects. Sound knowledge of the relevant regulations and Process Engineering specific standards and practices 5 years' water industry experience, with more than 5 years working with clean water treatment processes in a design, operational or regulatory role.
