Junior Gameplay Animator Dambuster Studios - creators of the number one BAFTA-nominated smash hit Dead Island 2 - has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Gameplay Animator to join our highly talented Animation team. Role overview As a Junior/Entry-Level Gameplay Animator, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting captivating and immersive animations that bring our game worlds to life. Collaborating closely with various teams, you'll help shape the core gameplay mechanics and visual narratives that define our titles. Work collaboratively with the design team to understand gameplay mechanics and objectives, translating them into intuitive and visually engaging animations. Collaborate with teams to ensure animations seamlessly blend with the game's visual style, maintaining a consistent and immersive player experience. Implement animations into the game engine, adjusting parameters and behaviours to achieve desired results. Iterate on animations based on feedback from senior team members and playtesting, continuously refining your skills and enhancing animation quality. Contribute fresh ideas to brainstorming sessions, helping elevate gameplay and storytelling through your animations. Stay up-to-date with animation trends, tools, and techniques, incorporating new approaches into your work. Assist in other animation-related tasks such as cinematics, cutscenes, and character animations as needed. Requirements A strong portfolio showcasing your animation skills, demonstrating an understanding of animation principles and timing. Proficiency in animation software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, MotionBuilder) and familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity). Basic knowledge of animation pipelines and the ability to work within technical constraints. Enthusiasm for understanding gameplay mechanics and translating them into animations that enhance player engagement. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Passion for gaming and a keen desire to contribute to the creation of captivating player experiences.
