Then this post is for you We need a Physiotherapy Technician to join our well respected Community Physiotherapy Team. We welcome part time and full time applicants. The successful applicant will work with patients at home and in group classes in NHS settings across Portsmouth delivering rehabilitation. You will work with other physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Associate Practitioners and on your own. Our team provides rehabilitation to adults 18 and over who have rehabilitation needs that are best met in their own home, or in our Falls Prevention Classes. We provide support to older people living with frailty and long term conditions and younger adults with physical disabilities. We take pride in supporting patients with mental health needs, learning disabilities and complex social challenges and the successful applicant should be willing to work with all these groups demonstrating in inclusive, supportive and positive approach at all times. You will need to have experience in health or social care and ideally should have worked within the field of physiotherapy or exercise provision/instruction before. Main duties of the job The post holder will work with this group of patients and will see patients in their own homes and also in small groups in local NHS Trust facilities. The post holder will complete programmes of rehabilitation with our patient group on their own, and sometimes in conjunction with, other members of the team. The aim of their work will be to support and improve the independence and quality of life of the patients they see through the provision of high quality rehabilitation. They will also support the patients through working effectively as part of the wider Community Integrated Neighbourhood Teams with other as needed. To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients. To accept patients referred by a physiotherapist and carry as own patient caseload. Treat patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring patient progression making minor alterations to patient treatment programmes as required. To complete simple assessments with patients as directed by qualified Physiotherapists. Work unsupervised reporting back patient progress and informing physiotherapist of any problems. Be responsible for non-clinical duties in the provision of physiotherapy services within a designated clinical team. Safely manage self in high risk areas including: - Patient handling. Challenging behaviour situations. Driving self. Lone working in the community. Handling body fluids. Support of vulnerable adults including safeguarding.
