HVIVO are seeking a Research Assistant to join the Development Team at our site in London, E1. The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible for the support of internal and external studies and in the development and validation of new methodologies and reagents for subsequent utilisation. The Development team are responsible for the development and validation of molecular, virology and immunology assays in line with hVIVO corporate objectives and priorities. hVIVO is a dynamic and pioneering global player in the pharmaceutical early phase research sector, and has been recently developing a strong discovery (research and development) focus to investigate human disease to help find better treatments, faster. Provide scientific expertise and support in the delivery of development and validation of virological and immunological assays; Responsible for the support in the delivery of internal and client contracted research projects; Manage time effectively to meet competing demands, ensuring that work is prioritised and that outputs are delivered to defined deadlines; Provide regular updates on progress to management; Ensure all work, where appropriate, maintains compliance with Good Clinical Practice and Good Clinical Practice for Laboratories, all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company standards and guidance; Assist in the maintenance of the laboratories and ensure all procedures are performed according to Health & Safety regulations; Perform study administration tasks, for example lab book and label production, document scanning, filing or archiving. Essential MSc in Biological Science Significant working experience in the laboratory Ability to advise and educate colleagues professionally and scientifically Excellent scientific research competencies Experience in applying theoretical and working knowledge of virology and immunology in daily work Experience in the conduct of a variety of immunological and virological techniques Desirable Ability to plan and execute laboratory work Good working knowledge of GLP/GCP standards Membership in relevant professional bodies
