We deliver government funding schemes to support councils, schools, housing associations, hospitals and universities boost their energy efficiency, reduce their impact on the environment, save money and remove households from fuel poverty. We work with the UK government and the devolved administrations in Scotland and Wales. As well as managing the funding schemes, we provide professional advice, expertise and support to grant recipients throughout all stages of their projects. We also offer insight, intelligence and influence by sharing knowledge and lessons learnt from project delivery to help improve future schemes and policy development.
We were created in 2004 and have been growing ever since. We now employ 200 people. Our principal office is in Manchester and we have a base at Canary Wharf in London. We are wholly owned by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
Join Salix as a Senior Programme Manager, where you'll oversee 2-4 Programme Delivery Teams and manage high-value carbon reduction projects worth up to £150m. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you'll lead multiple schemes, ensuring they deliver on schedule and achieve the desired carbon savings. Collaborate with key stakeholders like DESNZ, DfE, and DoH, influencing government policy and future scheme design.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead delivery of multiple decarbonisation programs, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution.
* Provide regular performance updates to the Executive Team and funders, highlighting strategic risks.
* Drive the development and launch of new funding schemes in collaboration with internal departments.
* Manage project completions, establish effective systems, and ensure accurate forecasting.
* Build and maintain relationships with government departments and stakeholders.
* Coordinate PR activities, represent Salix at events, and promote energy efficiency leadership.
* Manage and motivate a team, fostering skill development and ensuring mental well-being.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in program management, ideally within carbon reduction or energy sectors.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams and complex projects.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
* Strategic thinker with a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency.
£45,000 - £55,000 depending on relevant experience.
