Role Overview:
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing personal care and support to our residents, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. This is a rewarding role that requires compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist residents with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, and toileting.
* Support residents with mobility and ensure their comfort and safety at all times.
* Help residents with daily activities, including mealtimes and recreational activities.
* Promote the dignity, respect, and independence of residents.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' health or wellbeing to senior staff.
* Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure a high standard of care.
* Provide emotional support to residents and their families.
Requirements:
* Experience working in a care home or similar setting.
* A caring, compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Willingness to complete relevant training and work towards professional qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Health and Social Care).
* A satisfactory DBS check.
* Completed mandatory training within the past 12 months.
* Completed moving and handling training within the past 12 months.
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
* Experience working with elderly residents, individuals with dementia, or those with neurological disabilities.
